The name “Commerce City” may not be the most marketable. Still, two years ago residents voted two-to-one to keep the business-boosterish name.

But that doesn’t mean Commerce City can’t work on its tarnished image — and, in fact, it’s paying a consultant $80,000 to help bring high-end projects to the city and shine up Commerce City in the process.

First challenge: dealing with yesterday’s low-down murder of Dung Viet Le, owner of Dollar Value Plus, at his store at 5765 East 63rd Place in Commerce City.

That’s no way to do business. Lots of luck, City of Commerce.
