Jeff Peckman, the man who in 2004 proposed that Denver push for Safety Through Peace (essentially reducing crime by reducing stress) and is now calling for the city to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission, is slated to appear with David Letterman tonight — even after the comic devoted last Friday’s Top 10 list to “Signs Your Neighbor Is an Alien.”
But Peckman is nothing if not good-humored, as he proved when The Daily Show skewered him four years ago (councilman Charlie Brown didn’t come off too well, either).
Joining Peckman — billed as a “UFO Expert” — will be Mark Wahlberg and Alanis Morissette. But alas, Peckman won’t be bringing the real star along with him: the alleged alien who appears in a film by Coloradan Stan Romanek, which Peckman used to make his case to the media ten days ago.
Top sign that your neighbor is an alien: “He’s bald, gray and creepy, but he’s not Dick Cheney.” For the rest, click here. — Patricia Calhoun
