The quickly reorganized Colorado Cannabis Convention kicks off at 4 p.m. today at the Colorado Convention Center. Title sponsor Kush Colorado and its sibling, dailybuds.com, stepped in to take the lead after a dispute with the original sponsor wound up in court last Friday. If the predicted 100,000 people actually show up over the next two days, it could be the biggest show ever held at the convention center.
Which has a certain irony, since earlier this year a couple of law enforcement officers met with Visit Denver, the city’s convention and tourism bureau, to ask how Denver’s new reputation as the cannabis capital of the world was affecting the convention trade.

But this weekend, weed is the word. Fair warning: Although the show will have several hundred vendors, performances by local bands, a signing by Cypress Hill and several Q&A panels and demonstrations, there’s one thing that’s prohibited from the site: actual medical marijuana.
