Choreographer and dancer Robert Sher-Machherndl is a local treasure. As artistic director of the Lemon Sponge Cake ballet company, he gets to play around with the meaning of movement and the line between theater and dance all the time. But his current project, Man Made Men, takes experimentation a step further with the interdisciplinary collaboration Unspoken.

Sher-Machherndl put his head together with actor/director Michael French; both men are from a European background, and they use their multicultural understanding to push the boundaries of theater and dance. And here’s a bonus for you: The objective of Man Made Men is not only to experiment on stage. It’s also to perform high-quality art in unusual settings or raw spaces — which means the production cost is low, thereby helping to keep ticket prices very affordable. Unspoken is their premiere project. Expect hard-core commentary on current affairs as well as everyday human activities (like getting dressed and undressed).

Sher-Maccherndl and French perform Unspoken tonight at 7:30 p.m. at TAXI, 4357 Ringsby Court. Tickets are $15 at the door (cash or check only). For information, call 303-545-2298 or 720-352-2903. — Amber Taufen
