Westword

Dear Stoner: I took a few different hash pen options with me on vacation in the Caribbean, and literally all of them clogged up. Other than on the flight, I kept them upright. No matter how hard I sucked and blew, nothing cleared them out. Should I just give up on these?

Dear Daryl: Clogging is one of several drawbacks when you depend on disposable vapes and cartridges while traveling, but going 0-3 with weed options on a beach vacay would feel worse than getting stung by a jellyfish.

Even in Colorado, arguably the most advanced cannabis extraction market in the world, hash vapes still clog on the regular. They’ve improved over the years, for sure, but if you leave one upside down or on its side for too long, you may be infinitely waiting (and huffing and puffing) for the vape to un-clog.
I’m hardly an expert at traveling across state lines with weed, but I prefer flying with rosin, a portable electronic dab rig, like a Puffco, and a few nondescript edibles instead. These are just as easy to hide in your luggage as vapes, and probably even harder for TSA to identify.
