The website of SouthSide Johnny’s in Colorado Springs declares, “It’s better to eat at a great bar than drink at a restaurant.” But brawls are best avoided anywhere — and one broke out at the venue during Sunday’s wee hours. The result of confrontations between two groups? Three stabbings, one requiring hospitalization. No arrests yet; get more details from the Colorado Springs Police release below.

Incident Date: February 27, 2011 Time: 12:37:00 AM Location: SouthSide Johnny’s, 528 S Tejon St.

Summary: Three people were stabbed during an altercation outside SouthSide Johnny’s nightclub. All three were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for their injuries. Two were treated and released. The third sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Officers had initially responded to a report of a large fight and upon arrival discovered three people had been stabbed. Officers learned an altercation occurred inside the nightclub. One group was escorted from the bar out the front door. Simultaneously the second group exited out the rear door and the two groups met in the street on E. Moreno. A second altercation occurred resulting in the triple stabbing. The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
