Plenty of adults will let teens below the legal drinking age sneak a sip on New Year’s Eve, just as Sandra Johnson allegedly did.
Problem is, Johnson was on the job — as an overnight supervisor at Lampkin Group Center For Boys II, a privately run home for juvenile sex offenders.
Which is why she’s currently facing a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Denver District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough has the details.

“Earlier this month, a juvenile probation officer went to the facility to meet with a juvenile probation client, and he found a camera memory card,” Kimbrough says. “He asked the kids, ‘What is this?,’ and one of them said, ‘I just found it’ — so he confiscated it. And later, it was discovered that the memory card held both still photos and video photos of some of the juvenile probation clients from the facility drinking alcoholic beverages.”
The photos had been taken on New Year’s Eve, and Johnson “is alleged to have allowed this to happen while she was supervising the facility on an overnight shift,” Kimbrough continues.
Johnson was advised of the charges against her in Denver District Court today. She’s due for a preliminary hearing on May 4.
By which time that New Year’s celebration will have long since soured.
