Rewatching his address, it’s clear that an unexpectedly robust Kennedy rose to the occasion. His voice seems shaky and raspy at times, and his cadence can be a little strange. Yet even conservatives who loathed Teddy, or pop-culture buffs who could never see him as anything other than the personification of The Simpsons‘ Mayor Quimby, will likely concede that the talk retains its drama and emotion, particularly today.
