Calling all Denver recyclers: Mayor Michael Hancock and Denver Public Works’ Denver Recycles are asking you to show some Valentine’s Day love and support for a more eco-friendly city.
They’ve announced a photo contest with a chance to win tickets to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, a Colorado Avalanche game and a ParkSmart Denver gift card.
Contestants are asked to submit creative photos of their purple recycling carts. “We’ll be looking for creativity, how funny they are, if they’re cute, are people showing what they are recycling,” says program administrator Becky Goyton, from Denver Public Works.
And if you’re really serious about winning, be smart about it. “We’re looking for accuracy so we’d hate to see them put a huge piece of styrofoam in the picture because we don’t collect that,” Goyton says.
