View Larger Map Early Sunday morning, the Denver Police Department responded to a call near the 5000 block of Fillmore Street, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click “View Larger Map”). Near some railroad tracks, they found a dead body that apparently got that way due to gunshot wounds.

On December 13, 2009, at 7:50 a.m. Denver Police responded to the 5000 block of Fillmore Street on a report of a dead body lying near the railroad tracks. Officers responded to the scene and found the victim who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is being investigated as a homicide. An autopsy will be completed to determine the cause and manner of death. The victims’ identity is not being released at this time pending positive identification by the Coroner’s Office and notification of next of kin.
