Homicide 2727 W. 6th Avenue

On May 29, 2009, approximately 12:54 a.m. Denver Police were called to 2727 W. 6th Avenue, the El Chaparral night club. Several individuals were involved in fights both inside and outside the club. Security guards moved the people fighting from inside the club to outside. One of the security guards became involved in an argument with two unknown males. One of the males pulled a handgun and shot the security guard. The security guard was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The suspects ran to a dark colored “sports car” (possibly a Camero) and fled the area. As they left, someone inside the vehicle fired several more shots hitting a second security guard. He was transported to Denver Health Medical Center and is listed in serious condition. The identity of the victims will not be released at this time.
