Another Aurora homicide took place on December 22 in addition to the killing of Eleanor Joann Sears, 75, allegedly at the hands of her own daughter.
The victim in the second incident was found in an alley near the 2500 block of North Joliet Street, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click “View Larger Map”). About a week later, he was identified as Jose Chavez Deltoro, 42. Thus far, no arrests have been announced. Look below to read the initial release on the crime, during a period when the APD was struggling to identify Deltoro.
The Aurora Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the victim of a homicide who was found yesterday morning in an alley in the 2500 block of North Joliet Street.The victim is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 35 years old, 6’2″, 367 lbs., black hair and brown eyes. He had a mustache and a light goatee. He did not have any tattoos.
The victim was wearing several necklaces at the time of his death. A photo of those necklaces is attached.
