Update below: Yesterday, we shared a pair of updates about an over-the-weekend incident in which one man was killed, a second man (Filberto Alderete) was arrested for investigation of first-degree murder, and a third man (Daniel Alderete) was shot by police after allegedly refusing to drop a weapon — although a family member insists he wasn’t armed.
Now, the Denver coroner’s office has identified the victim as Jesus Sifuentes Jr., 36. Read the release below:
On July 18, 2010 the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner was requested to respond to 3436 W. 18th Ave., in Denver Colorado.Mr. Jesus Sifuentes Jr. of Denver Colorado (Hispanic Male, DOB: 08-30-73) had been shot and pronounced dead at that location.
Time of death: 12:52 AM on July 18, 2010.
This office completed and autopsy on July 19, 2010. The cause of death is a penetrating gunshot wound of the thorax. The manner of death is homicide.
