Original post, 9:20 a.m. August 24: It’s been more than 24 hours since the Denver Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on Josephine Street near Harrington Elementary and discovered the body of a man who died shortly thereafter. Thus far, however, the victim hasn’t been identified and the DPD isn’t releasing any more details about the case.
Here’s what we know. At 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, officers responded to 3624 Josephine Street and soon located a man who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He died after being transported to a nearby hospital.
This morning, Detective John White, spokesman for the DPD, tells us the department is unable to release any more information at this time — nothing about the circumstances of the shooting, possible suspects or anything else. As for the identify of the victim, we’ve got a call in to the Denver coroner’s office. If and when the folks there share more details, we’ll update this post.
