The number of shocking hit-and-runs in the Denver area continue to mount. Now, hot on the peeled rubber of cases involving Brittany Gonzales, who allegedly struck a child but only stopped for her hubcap, and Lisa Norton, the so-called hit-and-swim driver, comes word of an incident in which a driver allegedly sped off after striking a woman in a wheelchair.
According to the Denver Police Department, officers responded to the 2100 block of South Holly Street at around 11:30 p.m. last Thursday, July 7. They soon found the woman in question lying in the roadway, unresponsive. She was rushed to Denver Health with serious injuries.
At this point, the cops have not released any description of the driver or vehicle that sped away rather than stopping. But the details show why the family of hit-and-run victim Tim Albo is getting traction in regard to legislation to establish mandatory sentences for drunk drivers who split the scene of an accident they caused.
