The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, joined by the Denver Police Department and other law-enforcement agencies, have apparently been working overtime.
The U.S. Attorneys Office has revealed that sixteen people in the metro area have been arrested on various drug and/or gun charges in the past 72 hours.
The fifteen adults and one juvenile are thought to be members or associates of local Denver gangs. Four of them will be prosecuted federally, while eleven others (not counting the juvie) are headed for the state system.
Members of the first group, all of whom are from Denver, include Gabriel Silva, 34 (accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm), Carl Peterson, 47 (felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition), Vincent Valdez, 25 (felon in possession of a firearm) and Curtis David, 22 (felon in possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute).

Specific charges about the other eleven haven’t been released beyond info that Martin DeLarosa, 23, Esteban Castro, 22, Ariel Randolph, nineteen, and Juan Lozano, eighteen, were picked up on outstanding warrants.
That leaves six adults who were apparently ready for their close-ups, since mug shots were provided. Here they are:
“Thanks to the hard work of all the agencies involved, sixteen people who illegally use firearms or sell drugs have been apprehended and are now being prosecuted,” U.S. Attorney John Walsh said in a statement. “The streets of Denver will be safer as a result of this enforcement action.”
