And while the story of the malnourished four-year-old Belgian Malinois named Neeko is both tragic and disturbing — Neeko survived by eating part of another dog that starved to death under the “care” of suspect Kristy Knecht — most comments on the story focus on the headline’s unfortunate and confusing wording. After all, why would a judge allow the suspect to starve a dog in Arapahoe County District Court? Your guess is as good as ours. — Amber Taufen
