The parade of death this weekend, which began with ten-month old Adam Gonzales and followed with the gunshot slaying of David Hubbard continued with the early Sunday homicide of Byron Parker, 29.
At this point, the Denver Police Department is providing only the barest details about the incident on the 800 block of Santa Fe.
DPD spokesman Sonny Jackson says “officers came upon a party down” at that location — Parker, who was pronounced dead at 4:54 a.m. The Denver coroner’s office has determined that he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
As for the circumstances, Jackson will say only that “there was obviously a disturbance there” — and concedes, with laudable candor, that “we’re not sure who shot this individual.” At least not yet.
