On Friday, we told you about a Boulder High senior camping trip that led to three hospitalizations, trips to the county’s alcohol-recovery center and a third-degree-assault arrest.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon Gouin, a 21-year-old CU student, has been charged with supplying the booze that fueled the party — and the Boulder Daily Camera reports that Gouin, a Boulder High grad whose younger brother attends there, is currently a member of the CU Buffs football team.

Dan Recht, Gouin’s attorney, released a statement to the Camera that reads: “Brandon is honored to play football at CU and deeply regrets if this unfortunate situation reflects negatively on CU or its athletic department. He has cooperated fully with the sheriff’s investigation.”

That may not help him get back on the field, particularly given the university’s efforts to clean up its image following CU’s recruiting scandal of a few years back. Get the latest from a BCSO release below:

Boulder High School Senior Campout — Update

Case #10-2155

Last week, Sheriff’s deputies received information that members of the senior class from Boulder High School would be holding a campout in the mountains west of Boulder. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Gordon Gulch, located on Hwy 72 between Nederland and Ward, and located approximately 200 students camping in the area. Friday evening, April 30, 2010, Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies identified the person responsible for purchasing four kegs of beer for the party and issued him a summons for providing alcohol to an underage person, a class one misdemeanor.

The party was identified to be Brandon Gouin, 21 years old, a Boulder resident and University of Colorado student.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to identify Gouin after contacting local liquor stores to determine who had purchased the brand and quantity of beer that was confiscated at the party. It was also learned that Gouin has a sibling that attends Boulder High School.
