If you’re not feeling like braving an Interpol sans Carlos D, the Morning Benders show at the Bluebird tonight should be a welcome option. With a handful of EPs and two full-lengths (the latest, Big Echo, came out this year on Rough Trade) under its belt, the dudes from Berkeley, California, have a comforting, washed-out sound, perfect for enjoying on a low-key fall evening.
The last time around, the Morning Benders played at the hi-dive, and with the press the band has received over the last year, it seems a jaunt upstream is in the cards. All this really means to you is that maybe checking the band out at the Bluebird now would be a good idea, before they move on to bigger shows and, you know, inevitably higher ticket prices.
