It is somehow strange to think that Plain White T’s have been around for almost fourteen years, but it’s true — the dudes best known for the teenage heartstring-puller “Hey There Delilah” have been together since 1997. Last year saw the release of the Illinois-based act’s sixth studio album, The Wonders of the Younger, and with it came a bit of a style change.
Though still pushing the gushy romantic angle, Plain White T’s seems to have stumbled upon its own maturity; Tom Higgenson’s voice has traded in the self-assertive sing-talk for a little sincerity and melody. This letting-go of a smart-aleck persona is a refreshing change for the guitar-pop band and could prove to be the key to Plain White T’s longevity. This show is all ages, and tickets are $20. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8.
