Oh, the magic of sibling collaboration. Why band members seem more interesting when they are related, we’re not sure, but Los Angeles folk-ish brother-sister duo Belle Brigade definitely have that going for them. Beyond that, they also carry some Joe Cocker coolness through sister-half Barbara Gruska’s soulful vocals.
Backed by a full band — including Cocker’s own organ player, Mike Finnigan — Belle Brigade take on a big vintage sound that incorporates sweeping harmonies within structured melodies. The band plays the hi-dive tonight with Bare Bones and Land Lines. This show is eighteen and up and tickets are $8. Doors open at 8 p.m., bands start at 9 p.m.
