A.V.I.U.S., the MC frontman for Prime Element, is set to release his highly anticipated sophomore solo effort, For Better or Worse, on Thursday, June 23, as part of a dual release party with Mane Rok and Es-Nine, who are releasing En Stereo. We’ve got two brand-new tracks from A.V.I.U.S.’s new joint for your listening pleasure, “Carry It Home,” featuring Rhias of Air Dubai, and “Same Ol’ Line,” with cameos by Fashawn and Dilated People’s Evidence.
“Carry It Home” is a great opening single for the album. The track appears to be a sentimental look at the growth of the MC, whose gruff voice and easygoing delivery — bolstered by the soulful vocals of Rhias — give life to lyrics that reflect on his evolution.
For the feature-filled “Same Ol’ Line,” A.V.I.U.S holds his own against Fashawn and Evidence. The cut also features the MC’s Prime Element brethren Es-Nine on production and Cysko on the cuts. This joint will definitely make you nod your head. A perfect marriage of rap and soul, all three MCs break the mold by showing lyrical vulnerability and determination, especially A.V.I.U.S when he spits lines like “Y’all stuck on yesterday/We keep working for tomorrow.”
