When Mane Rok released The Ugly Truth last year, his goal was to follow up that full-length album with a series of EPs and shorter pieces, working with each different producer who worked on the project. Fresh on the heels of going head to head with authorities in his provocative video for “This Ones,” Mane continues his creative streak with Santanamation, a collaboration with Dyalekt, of Diamond Boiz. Page down for a rundown of the project and a sneak peek.
Dyalekt produced “Love is Gone” for The Ugly Truth, and having already worked with Mane on three songs previously, the collaboration came together with ease. Conceived as a tribute to Carlos Santana (due at Red Rocks this weekend for a pair of shows with George Lopez) Santanamation is designed to give an entirely new take to some of Santana’s most popular songs. Check out the clip below featuring the guys in the production process for the album, and then pick up the joint over at Bandcamp.
