Itchy-O (due at Old Curtis Street on Friday, March 19) isn’t a band so much as a multimedia art project designed to be an all but complete sensory experience for those who witness its performances. Truth be told, though, the troupe is probably working on its being a wholly immersive sensory experience on some level. The madness first started with Crash Worship associate Scott Banning, who made experimental films and provided the soundtracks. But Banning didn’t really want to do it on his own, so he recruited other like-minded artists to accompany his drums and electronic sounds. One of these was Conrad Kehn, formerly of post-death-rock band Skull Flux. The current lineup still performs songs to accompany Banning’s films, but there’s a bit more dynamism to the music than its former ambient drone.
