For his latest project, Left Lane Music Vol. 1, DJ Ktone pulled together a slew of different rappers with different styles. Featuring the likes of Tone Skarfo, Mr. Midas, FOE and Aires Jackson, among others, the first installment of the comp and its planned followup (due out sometime in the first quarter of next year) will set the stage for Ktone’s forthcoming full-length, Think Like a Rapper, Move Like a Mogul. (Page down to hear an exclusive track from Left Lane from Denver rapper Lil Bad.)
“This one is really focused on the West and Midwest region,” he notes of the comp, slated for release on November 15 through City Hall Records distribution. “From Oklahoma, the Bay, a couple cats from Mississippi [Def Jam’s Big K.R.I.T and Big Sant], and, of course, guys from Denver are on there. It’s more of a compilation and collection. I’m utilizing my name and my resources to expand this music that I believe in.”
