If you’ve never seen the Alabama Shakes live, add that to your bucket list immediately. Fuck jumping out of a plane. You’ve just got to see Brittany Howard live before you’re pushing daisies. She’s simply the most magnetic performer I’ve seen in a long time. Unlike other singers who resort to bawdy banter or gimmicky stage antics to stand out, Howard sucks you in with the sheer power and expressiveness of her voice. It’s all consuming. You can tell she’s putting absolutely everything she has into it. She sings and plays with her entire body. It’s a wonder to witness. Continue on to see Howard getting lost in the music last night.
