When Trios Enoteca, the nearly 15-year-old wine bar, shut its doors a month ago, it left a prime piece of LoDo real estate up for grabs. So predictably, it didn’t take long for someone to snatch up the space and move in.
Zydeco’s, a cajun restaurant from Fleur Bistro’s Andrew Esparza, picked up the lease before Trios had closed, vowing to give the spot a quick makeover and open in September (that makeover was actually so quick that the Trios Enoteca awning is still visible above the restaurant’s door, albeit the words have been blurred out). And this weekend, it welcomed brunchers and dinner-goers for the first time.
Hospitality manager Ron Angotti calls the eatery’s board, created under chef Sydney Moore, a “typical Cajun menu,” inclusive of jambalaya, chicken Creole and beignets. Those dishes are served in a dining room outfitted with white linen-topped tables residing beneath the spot’s original brick walls.
Zydeco’s is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.
