Things are looking sunny in Sunnyside. For years this north Denver neighborhood — bounded by West 38th Avenue, Federal Boulevard, Interstate 70 and Inca Street — lacked restaurant options beyond the original Chubby’s and a handful of other taco joints and tortillerias. But as Mark Antonation notes in his post on developments in the area, young buyers and families who can’t afford the ballooning prices in nearby Highland and Berkeley have turned to Sunnyside for better deals, and new restaurants, bars and markets have quickly followed.
Jamie offers favorites in both LoHi and Sunnyside:
Sunny’s for killer waffle breakfast, Uncle for ramen with to die for broth, Mexicana Taqueria for awesome tacos, Park Burger for burgers & fries, Pho 38 for pho, Gallup for coffee & dessert, and, of course, Little Man for ice cream all year long. LOVE my hood.
What do you think of the changes in northwest Denver — aka the North Side? What other up-and-coming dining neighborhoods do you recommend?
