A husband and wife were just popped by police in East Northport, New York, and charged with product tampering and petty larceny after they tried to peddle repackaged Jell-O pudding.

Sixty-eight-year-old Alexander Clement and his 64-year-old wife, Christine, allegedly bought boxes of Jell-O pudding at local stores, then emptied the boxes, refilled them with a mixture of sand and salt, and then returned them to the stores for a refund.

A single box of Jell-O pudding sells for about 99 cents; that’s a lot of work for a fast buck.

No word on whether Bill Cosby posted the couple’s bail.
