After a massive renovation/building project, ViewHouse Eatery Bar & Rooftop will finally open to the public tomorrow. But you can see it today at a Ballpark Neighborhood benefit that will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (tickets are $40).
What’s left of the original building at 2015 Market Street long predates Coors Field, of course; for decades, it was home to the Nisei Veterans organization, which ran a bar out of the place and also leased space to Mori Sushi Bar and Tokyo Cuisine, once one of the town’s most popular Japanese restaurants, which turned the old Nisei vets’ bar into a hip sake lounge in the early 2000s. But Mori closed in 2009, and club king Francois Safieddine of Lotus Concepts bought the spot from the Nisei Veterans Heritage Foundation for a reported $900,000 in 2010.

Lotus poured lots more money into renovating the Victorian-era structure, which will now boast two floors of bar/restaurant, with a rooftop deck and also a ground-floor patio complete with games. The project was massive, but despite the age of the building, they found “no bones – no bodies,” reports managing partner Brad Manske. But they could find plenty of bodies after the opening weekend — especially after Saturday’s ShamRock and Roll party, sponsored by Westword.
