Last week, when I interviewed Delores Tronco about the end to the Justice League of Street Food — and the group’s pavement parties that pioneered Denver’s mobile food movement, the last of which took place on Saturday — the initial organizer of those gatherings had this to say: “We hope that someone else will pick up the reins and bring another great series of food truck parties to life, but since this is the last Justice League party ever, we hope that we’ll be able to go out with a bang.”

Nothing — not even a pounding rainstorm — could keep the masses away from the League’s last hurrah, which took place at the TAXI development and included foodstuffs from Hey PB & J, Pinche Tacos, Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs, The Biscuit Bus, Denver Cupcake Truck, The Pie Truck, Cap’n Crabby, Mythos Gourmet Greek, Big Country Bar B Que, Baba & Pops’ Pierogis & Kielbasa, Aiko Pops, Peteybird Ice Cream Sandwiches, Boulder-based Babette’s Bakery, and beer from Avery.

Tronco got her wish: The bash was a smash, thunderous bangs and all. Here’s a sampling of photos from the last supper.
