The building that now houses Federal Bar & Grill has gone through many changes since its 1904 construction. Turned into the Micky Manor, a neighborhood Italian joint, in the ’30s, it went through several owners before closing altogether two years ago. Now new owner Christopher Mohaupt has put his twenty years of experience in the restaurant business to put a new concept in the place, one focused on craft beers (including a half-dozen gluten-free models); a streamlined, cleaned-up space; and an expansive menu — including lunch, which he just started serving last week. And the Federal has another undeniable amenity in this neighborhood: free parking.
