Friday, October 17
Desserts & Delights, a fundraiser for the Hep C Connection, will start at 6 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott Denver Cherry Creek. The event features decadent desserts and both silent and live auctions. Tickets are $45; purchase them here.

As Halloween approaches, it’s time for sweets and treats. Choctoberfest offers guests just that, with demos, a Chocolate Challenge contest, tastings hosted by more than fifty vendors, an “aerial chocolate apple-bobbing contest” and much more. Get your chocolate on from 4 to 10 p.m. tonight and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow, October 18 at the Marriott Denver Tech Center. Admission is $5 and tasting tickets cost $10 for twelve or $20 for 25. The Thorne Nature Experience is throwing a fundraiser for its sixtieth anniversary that includes a silent auction, wine and handcrafted beer, appetizers from local restaurants, and a celebration of environmental education. The event will start at 6 p.m. at the Rembrandt Yard Gallery in Boulder. Tickets are $60; find more information here.

The Devils Thumb Ranch will host the third annual James Beard Foundation Dinner with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.Seats for the event are $200 per person, $150 per person for James Beard Foundation members. Reservations are required; call 970.726.7002 ext. 517 to make yours.

Denver’s Grand Coffee Bazaar will be brewing today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brew. The bazaar will bring together coffee, beer and food providers and fans for a coffee-centric, caffeinated event featuring tastings from many Colorado coffee roasters, multiple breakfast-focused food trucks, morning libations, a specialty coffee bar and gourmet soft-serve ice cream.
