The Inventing Room, chef Ian Kleinman’s company that uses molecular gastronomy to make food as entertaining as it is delicious, won an American Culinary Federation Achievement in Excellence Award at the ACF’s Western Regional Conference earlier this month.

“It’s awesome,” Kleinman says of the honor. “I’ve been following ACF since I was a kid, so it was amazing to receive that accolade.”
Although Kleinman has worked in traditional kitchens, he’s gotten to exercise his creativity through the Inventing Room, which caters events and has pop-up shop often found around town.

“For me, it’s just a little bit of gratification from our peers,” Kleinman adds. “You want to show good work with your fellow chefs. I started this company wanting do something different, and to be recognized for it was absolutely amazing. We weren’t expecting it.”
