As part of the ever-expanding effort to pump a little “spirit” into the venues that host Denver’s First Friday events in several arts districts around town, the Artwork Network showroom, 878 Santa Fe Drive, will sell glasses of wine and bottles from the Bonacquisti Wine Company, beginning with the First Friday festivities on June 5, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Bonacquisti, which calls itself Denver’s Urban Winery, is located at 4640 Pecos Street, where it makes grapes from the Western Slope into a variety of white and reds, including the famous Vinny No Neck, a blend of merlot and petite syrah.

Colorado wineries are allowed to have five outside tasting rooms, either temporary or permanent, as long as they pull a permit that allows that business to sell wine on their behalf, says vintner owner Paul Bonacquisti. He currently has permits for the Highland farmers’ market and for Fromage to Yours, 8100 South Quebec Street, a Centennial cheese shop that pairs its domestic cheeses with Bonacquisti wines.

Last year, Bonacquisti also had a permit to sell at Café Caliente in Highland Square, but the café eventually got its own liquor license.
