If this weekend is just too long for your so-twee-it-hurts heart to wait for Fancy Tiger’s Holiday Handmade Craft Fair or the Holiday Mancraft event at Ink Lounge, West Elm in Cherry Creek is inviting five Etsy-approved crafters to sell their wares tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Unlike a lot of art shows or craft fairs out there, West Elm didn’t want her to put up any cash to participate, says Anne McGraw, the one-woman show behind Summit Ridge Studio. They just e-mailed her asking if she wanted to show up, and she quickly accepted. All she has to do is haul in her wares (which cost between $8 and $3,000) a few hours before the event starts, and smile.
“This is exactly the kind of thing I want to see more of as an artist. They are doing it so right,” McGraw says. This will also be her first show off the computer screen.
The other vendors are Vital (printed T-shirts and glassware); It’s Almost Bath Time (soaps with an emphasis on food-related scents); Green Bird Press (letterpress stationery); and Urban Bird & Co. (screen-printed home goods).
When news happens, Westword is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $50,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community. If Westword matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
Attendees inspired by all these displays of creativity will be able to make their own tree ornaments– and if the charitable spirit moves you, donations to women and children’s nonprofit the Gathering Place will gladly be accepted. West Elm in-store items will also be 10 percent off.
