The Gathering at the Great Divide Art Festival has been an end-of-summer tradition in Breckenridge for 35 years, and this weekend’s juried show is no exception.

The three-day festival includes more than 100 national and international artists, including a few Summit County locals, and coincides with the Breckenridge Wine Festival and the Summit Foundation Great Rubber Duck Race on Saturday, and the Breck Crest Mountain Marathon on Sunday.

And with the leaves just beginning to turn, aspiring artists will find plenty of artistic inspiration in the landscape, as well. “That’s the beauty of the mountain art festival,” says spokeswoman Carol Craig. “You can go take a wonderful hike, go for a bike ride or do some exploring, then come back to town completely rejuvenated and find a world-class collection of artists set up right there on Main Street.”

The free festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. For more information, visit www.mountainartfestivals.com.
