Colorado isn’t always recognized for its design and architecture, but the Month of Modern is working intently on changing that attitude. Beginning today and running through October 30, Modern in Denver magazine, HMH Architecture + Interiors and Annabel Media have come together to celebrate all things modern, from architecture to art and the culture that surrounds it. Centered in Boulder, this monthlong event will include architectural photo scavenger hunts; American Institute of Architects panel discussions on the past, present and future of statewide design; film screenings; and more.
“We really want to galvanize the design community but also connect with design lovers to have a conversation about what Colorado Modern design is, specifically,” says Kate Bailey, director of Month of Modern. Bailey says that as Colorado continues to experience explosive growth, it is now more important than ever to highlight the achievements and work of local modern designers.
Today, catch an AIA panel of three generations of Colorado architects at Galvanize in Boulder; for a full list of Month of Modern events and more information about tickets, guest speakers and participatory contests, visit monthofmodern.com.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Oct. 30, 2014
