When Zolo Southwestern Grill kicked off its 151 Days of Tequila last year, bar manager Brian Selbichka wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. “I think it was ambitious to have this go over the course of five months,” he admits. “But we’re getting more people who are ambivalent about tequila, and once they taste it, they say, ‘This is great!’” Zolo has been educating people about tequila at the same time it’s been helping out the Sister Carmen Community Center in Lafayette. It all wraps up tonight with El Jefe de Tequila, a five-course meal (each course prepared with tequila and paired with tequila) crafted by five of the best chefs in Boulder, including former Zolo sous chef and Top Chef winner Hosea Rosenberg. Admission to the 6:30 p.m. dinner is $75, but you can also celebrate the end of the 151 days by buying a featured cocktail in the bar or featured entree in the dining room; all proceeds from these special items will benefit Sister Carmen. Zolo is located at 2525 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder; for more details, call 303-449-0444 or visit www.zologrill.com.
