We spotted artist John Chacon and his seafoam-colored hair on the corner of 13th Avenue and Sherman Street. “Soundcloud is my style inspiration,” he says. “I like looking at the Internet for fashion. I like Internet swag. My style mantra is that I should always express myself, including the way I dress.”
Necklaces are Chacon’s favorite accessory; here he’s wearing one with a yin-yang symbol. “I grew up in Denver and moved to Detroit for a few years when I was a teenager. Then I came back to Denver,” he says of his journey. Chacon’s favorite film is Hocus Pocus. “I think it has a really good soundtrack,” he explains. Eve featuring Gwen Stefani’s “Let Me Blow Your Mind” is his spring jam.
“I shop at mostly thrift stores,” Chacon says. “The ARC is a good one. Family Affair on Larimer is nice as well.” The printed buttons feature an animated character and a band, Swans. The butterfly pin adds a surreal element to the ensemble.
One of these three colorful bracelets features a real-life flower preserved in a rock.
Chacon’s skateboard and his red-and-gold patterned knapsack accessorize his look. “Red is my favorite color because it’s sexy,” he says.
