Stickers are everywhere — advertising businesses, decorating skateboards, expressing political opinions and more. From mass-produced sheets of the hot cartoon character of the day, to hand-drawn graffiti stickers, everyone can get in on the act. This uniquely sticky, universal art medium is the subject of Peel N Stick, Love Gallery’s first-ever sticker show.

“I’ve always loved stickers, ever since I was a little kid. I love that it’s really an accessible art form, for both an artist and viewers,” explains Love Gallery owner Michael Benninghoven. “Even when you’re a little kid you get stickers, and that might be your first introduction to art, whether you know it or not.”

Peel N Stick’s submissions come from all over the world, with more than a thousand stickers representing hundreds of designers and artists. Thanks to the affordability of the medium, it’s the rare art show that offers everyone a chance to own a piece, for as little as a dollar. “They can come in and see something they like and have a little piece of art they can take home with them,” Benninghoven says.

The show opens tonight at 6 p.m. at Love Gallery, 570 Inca Street; admission is free. For more information, visit lovegallerydenver.com.
