“I know a lot of people dread Valentine’s Day,” says Silke Reuthlinger, founder of Hip Chicks Out, “so I tried to put a party together where people who are single can make light of it.” Ladies, you can thank her in person tonight at Red Velvet, a girls-only celebration of lust, love and friendship, as well as Hip Chicks Out’s second anniversary.

Grab your posse and head to Tabú, 1222 Glenarm Place, for an evening of erotic performances (“nothing hard-core,” Reuthlinger promises), gift bags, fire dancing and tunes spun by DJ Tatiana — even a sweet surprise involving chocolate and bare skin. Yum! Entry is $13, with proceeds donated to female-friendly causes, and the doors open at 8 p.m. Table service, $60, is available for groups of four to eight women and includes a bottle of champagne. Visit www.hipchicksout.com or e-mail behip@hipchicksout.com for information and reservations.
Wed., Feb. 14, 8 p.m.
