The award-winning play The Lieutenant of Inishmore — written by Martin McDonough of In Bruges fame — is the perfect way to kick of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations if you’re Irish. Even if you’re not, it’s hard to resist this wacky tale of an Irish Liberation Army enforcer and his best friend, a black cat named Wee Thomas.

Stop by Curious Theatre, 1080 Acoma Street, for the opening night of Lieutenant; a special party is planned, featuring Irish booze, food and music. Wear your finest: The dress code is Irish gangster, and the pre-party starts at 7 p.m., with the play kicking off at 8. Tickets are $45; call 303-623-0524.
Sat., March 8, 7 p.m., 2008
