Keep Westword Free
We’re $1,500 away from our spring campaign goal!
We’re aiming to raise $20,000. Your support ensures Westword can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
We’re one month into 2015, and by now, many of us have already given up on our New Year’s resolutions — if we ever kept them to begin with. Whether your promise to stop drinking was sabotaged by the bottomless Bloody Mary bar or your new acro-yoga gym membership has been used only once, Fadó Irish Pub wants you at its Screw Your Resolution Bash, a celebration for anyone more interested in binge-eating midnight pizza than nibbling on paleo biscuits.
The party will rock the house like an Olivia Newton-John music video, complete with an ’80s workout-gear contest and a performance by That Eighties Band, a group hailed by Denver’s CBS4 as one of the top cover bands in Colorado. Guests are encouraged to don their best spandex and sweatbands for a chance at a first-place $100 bar tab (or $50 for the runner-up).
“This is our second year doing this fun event, and That Eighties Band always brings in a big crowd,” says Brian Low, a manager at Fadó. “We’ve also got a complimentary junk bar for guests to munch on.”
The Screw Your Resolution Bash, a no-cover event, kicks off tonight at 9 p.m. at Fadó, 1735 19th Street. For more information, go to fadoirishpub.com/denver/events.
