It’s not quite a wrap, but when the Bureau of Land Management announced that it had approved Christo’s “Over the River,” the art installation proposed for a 42-mile stretch of the Arkansas River in southern Colorado cleared yet another hurdle.

The Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado State Patrol, as well as some local municipalities, have yet to sign off on the plans, but at this point, all signs are pointing to Christo getting the go-ahead to start construction in 2012.
