Poetry will win! That was the prediction of queencityslamster on Saturday, before the twelve finalists competed in the last round of the Women of the World Poetry Slam at the Denver Art Museum that night.

But poetry wasn’t the only winner: Denver came out a champ, simply for hosting the competition.

As Queencityslammer wrote Saturday:

Kayla Price and Dominique Ashaheed (currently ranked #1 in the bouts) are two other competitors from Denver as well, and deserve recognition. The slam community here is overjoyed to have Amy, Kay and Lindsay in town and competing in such an event but don’t forget the very talented poets officially representing this town as well… BEST OF LUCK TO ALL TONIGHT! POETRY WILL WIN.
