He’s won accolades from the Comedy Works, which voted him the best new talent of 2006, and earned the respect of his funny-guy peers by getting invited to perform in New York on Eugene Mirman and Michael Showalter’s premier alt-comedy showcase, Tearing the Veil of Maya. Now it’s time for Denver audiences to find out exactly What’s So Funny when Westword’s own Adam Cayton-Holland takes the stage in his first one-man performance, Dick Jokes for Artists. The one-hour show, which will be recorded for a DVD, is a chance for the comic to really flex his humor muscle. “I think I’m at the point where I should be doing this,” he says. “For one night and one night only, I’m really going to try.”

Catch Cayton-Holland’s rare best effort tonight at 9 p.m. at Orange Cat Studios, 2625 Larimer Street. Tickets, $10, are available online at www.orangecatstudios.com.

Fri., July 11, 9 p.m., 2008
