The Moondance International Film Festival has returned to its roots. Founded in 2000, the fest moved to Hollywood during its 2006/2007 run — but let’s face it, the Los Angeles area has nothing on Boulder, where fest films will screen at Chautauqua Park (900 Baseline Road) and the Boulder Shambhala Meditation Center (1345 Spruce Street). If you missed the Early-Bird Get-Together party last night, don’t worry: There’s still plenty of time to catch an array of workshops and screenings today, including “Creating Unforgettable Characters” or “Fundamentals of the Romantic Screenplay,” a welcome party at 5 p.m. and, of course, films galore. Artsy types will want to catch the opening-night feature Echoes; the French creators of the film have likened it to an impressionist painting. And that’s just a sliver of the Moondance! The festival continues through Sunday, and ticket prices to various screenings, workshops and events vary. For complete information, visit www.moondancefilmfestival.com.
