From deep-space exploration to the front lines of conflict to mundane tasks like cleaning your floor, robots are taking over. Why go all John Connor and try to stop them, though, when you can just join them at Robotics at the Hangar? “It’s an expo of all things robotic, from firefighters to the bomb squad to aerospace,” explains Megan Quitter, director of education for Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. “Everyone you can think of that’s excited by robots is going to show up. This is the hub of all things robotic.”
The exhibits cover some of the most exciting developments in the robot world, from self-driving cars to bomb disposal ’bots, and there are plenty of activities and information about robot resources for further study. All robot enthusiasts are welcome, but the event is aimed primarily at kids in the later elementary grades through high school, especially those who have an interest in pursuing a career in the field.
The show runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Wings Over the Rockies, 7711 East Academy Boulevard. Admission is free for museum members, $11 for adults, $6 for children (those under age four admitted free), and $9 for seniors, active military and veterans. For more information, visit wingsmuseum.org.
